Originally from Osaka and trained at the Kyoto University of Art and Design, Gemi is a female Japanese illustrator based out of the Kansai region. Active since 2008 as a freelancer and internationally exhibited in galleries around the world, her pieces evoke a really nice sense of peaceful wonder. The kind of feeling you get during those ever so rare fleeting moments where everything just feels right.
Her digital style has a pastel like nature to it, down to the stroke style and soft, slightly desaturated color palettes that she sticks with. Mostly featuring solitary protagonists in a dream like state of wonderment, her art will definitely bring a much needed dose of chill vibes to anyone seeking them.
