Snowpiercer - Korea Throws It's Hat Into The International Scifi Feature Ring
Korean director Joon-ho Bong's post-apocalyptic film about a world stuck in an unrelenting ice age due to a failed attempt to quell global warming will be making it's way stateside soon. Released in August 2013 with an international cast including Chris Evans, Kang-Ho Song, Tilda Swanson and many others, the film is an amalgamation of stars from around the globe. The movie feels like Elysium on a train, in the sense of a class system developing on a train filled with survivors from the apocalyptic event.
Having seen some of Joon-ho's previous features, including Mother and The Host, he's an exceptional filmmaker with a knack of catering to an international audience. The feature will be making it's way to US theaters on June 27, 2014 on a limited release basis, so mark those calendars!
In a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off all life on the planet except for a lucky few that boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system evolves.
