By Your Side - Commemorating Fukushima
Today, Japan commemorates the 3 year anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster, which was triggered by the Tōhoku offshore earthquake and tsunami. It kind of seems like yesterday, but the March 11, 2011 tragedy is still affecting people today, especially those displaced by the event as well as those who lost family and friends.
Director Tsuneo Goda alongside studio Dwarf just completed this stop motion tribute to Fukushima titled By Your Side, which offers an encouraging tale of support. This music video is promoted by the Zapuni association, which has been taking strides to help the children of Fukushima cope through the power of music. Check out another beautiful collab they did called Blossom after the break!
