Contre Temps is French for 'Against Time,' which sets the stage for this stunning time themed animated short created by a team of students over at the Supinfocom Arles academy. Using a mixture of 3D character animation and breathtaking 2D painted backgrounds, Contre Temps narrates the story of a lone clock maker on his quest to gather any clock he can get his hands while the city around him slowly sinks into the sea, reclaimed by nature.
During his quest he runs into an unlikely discovery, which ultimately forces him to make a life or death decision that puts everything at risk. The stunning aquatic themed visuals and beautiful art direction definitely brought back memories of recent Bioshock titles with a dash of Ghibli.
