It has the camp of a D-grade old school horror flick, with the kind of special charm stop motions seem to possess: 'Thumb Snatchers from the Moon Cocoon' is an awesomely fun short written/directed by Bradley Schaffer, and brought to life by him and his team.
Manly-man Sheriff Huckiss refuses to sit back and watch Earthlings be destroyed by a bunch of alien robots, hell-bent on snatching all thumbs. Why thumbs? Because the appendage that allows us to accomplish a great many of tasks, also allows us to create destruction as well. Or something like that.
