The Art Of Saskia Gutekunst

I truly admire any digital artist that has a hang of Corel's Painter software over Photoshop, because the versatility of the program's realistic brush system is unmatched. The only problem lies in the fact that Painter's User interface is nothing short of painful, with a deeply elevated learning curve for each of the different specialized brushes you can use (ie, Oil paint presets, watercolor, etc.) and a nasty tendency to crash. I've tried multiple times to get my head around Painter, but always find myself back in the embrace of the simpler, easier to use Photoshop.

Saskia Gutekunst, a Munich based is one of those dedicated artists whose mastered the software to great effect, creating some truly beautiful pieces that could be confused at a glance for vibrant oil or pastel pieces. Imagine a classically trained fine artist with a touch of anime style infused into their style, and you get the work of Saskia. Check out more work from her portfolio after the break!
