STEPHAN ZIRWES : Zones and Fields

Zones and fields. (Via)
The images you are about to see comprise a small selection of the body of work by Stephan Zirwes, and despite thinking they were paintings at first, these are all actually aerial photographs taken by the artist.

All the pictures on the artists website (Which has music to accompany the photos) kind of reminded me of Koyanisqaatsi, a mute and still version of it.  There's is definitely a calm, almost cold beauty to this images, most of them mundane landscapes that suddenly speak on behalf of civilization, undeniable evidence of humanity's trail on the face of earth. The patterns and rythms that appear from that high up are truly fascinating to behold. Check out more beautiful images after the break.
