Frankenweenie: The Dog Of The Undead

I have a love/hate relationship with Tim Burton. I loved Tim Burton BEFORE he started adapting things he had no right in putting his hand in to (and if you are a regular reader you'll KNOW how much I hate his Planet of The Apes interpretation...), but the adaptation of his own film? Frankenweenie is actually an adaptation of one of Tim Burton's original short films. Imagine Frankenstein if he was a little boy, the monster was his dead dog, and every subtext of the original novel was changed to create an emotional story about a boy who loved his dog so much he resurrected it from the dead. The original movie is actually on the Nightmare Before Christmas Blu-ray and I highly recommend checking it out. If you've ever owned a dog it will break your heart in about 10 pieces.

This has been in the works for a long time, and it seems like a step in the right direction for Burton. We barely see classic forms of animation and the fact that Tim Burton is adapting his own film back to a style that kicked off his career is great to see.
