One of the animated short films debuting at SXSW (in Austin, our adopted hometown, though we are unable to attend this year) is this beautiful piece called Caldera. It's about a little girl struggling with mental illness, when she decides to go off of her meds, and into her own reality. When medicated, her world is sad and bleak; but when off of them, it's vibrant and beautiful. The art here looks really beautiful, and the story seems a little sad, but perhaps a story you just couldn't keep your eyes away from. Be on the lookout, once it's time at the festival has come to an end, expect an online release.
