The Incredible, Crafted Portraits Of Mr Joe Black

Animal Farm (Via)
Mr Joe Black is a mixed media portrait creator with a simple motto: "If it's small enough, I'll stick it down." His massive portraits are all created by using a mix of found objects, oil paints, acryclics and other mediums.

At first glance, the portrait above looks like a straight out mishmash of components, but all the badges are comprised of imagery of corporate logos, fast food to sell the point of our 'supersized culture,' and the all consuming need to always have something bigger and better. The defacement of Superman represents the notions of goodness being destroyed by this need to consume. All of Joe's pieces have similar messages infused into the pieces via their execution. Check out more of his work after the break!
