The Rock Of Ages Giveaway! And 10 Reasons Why You Should Be Playing This Game

Its been a while since I've played a game that turned out to be so worth the $10 I spent on it that I nearly felt bad for paying so little. Rock Of Ages delivers on all fronts, with a fantastic and humorous art style, great music and some of the most addictive gameplay I've encountered this year. We loved it so much that we've teamed up with ACE Team to promote the game, and want to ask you guys to spread the word about this amazing indie title.

As part of the promotion, we're giving away three Steam unlock codes for the game too! All you have to do is leave a comment with a valid email address stating what you love the most about Rock Of Ages. The winners will be announced on Friday. Check out our guide for the top 10 reasons we love this game after the break!

Edit: we CAN see your e-mail in Disqus, so there's no reason to post your information publicly. If it behooves you, you can post your Twitter

10) Atlus Published This Title

Shin Megami Tensei, Disgaea, Catherine...And Rock Of Ages..It all makes sense now.
And knowing the pedigree of Atlus titles, we know that everything they publish/develop is automatically made out of pure niche gold.

9) The Tribute To Mortal Kombat 3's Fight Screen

Oh yeah...Ace Team ain't messing around.

8) The Game Only Costs $9.99!

For the amount of fun and playtime they crammed into this game, its a damn steal. I loved every minute of it. I'm 15 hours in and I still haven't finished the main campaign. Seriously.. TEN BUCKS. Think about that. Its the cost of a meal worth skipping. Go buy it, right now.

7) The Trollface Rock Unlock

Quite possibly the best meme related game bonus...ever?
6)  A Barrage Of Multiplayer Options

As well as having online head to head multiplayer, a skeeball mode, and time trials..The game can also be played in split screen. Its the small things that make a difference.

5) The Boss Fights

Ever dreamed of defeating an animated statue of David with cannon propelled boulders to the nuts? Well look no further... My dream finally came true.

4) Hilarious Cut Scenes

Oh Plague, you're so misunderstood~

This game is just rife with cutscenes that poke fun at both historical and mythological figures. Every level is preceded with an awesome cutscene that also mix in a little pop culture. The Leonardo Da Vinci/Matrix Reloaded Architect scene caught us all off guard.

3) Go Team Indie!

After Zeno Clash and Rock Of Ages, I'm already looking forward to seeing what these guys do next.
I think I can really appreciate small teams that are dedicated to creating truly unique gameplay experiences and pushing boundaries. Would you rather play the 14th installment of an existing FPS, or play a game created by a small team dedicated to thinking outside the box? I know where my money is going.

2) Quirky, Fun Art Direction

The game mixes 3d with some fun 2d elements, which pays tribute to the paper cut out style that Terry Gilliam pioneered years ago. The ACE Team blog even has an entire write up about their art direction here, and its an insightful look as to what factors led to the final art style.

1) Truly Original, Hybrid Gameplay

The gameplay blends tower defense with kickass, rock rolling castle destruction. Let us reassure you, this game is a damn blast and worth every penny. We hope to see this game sell a ton of copies, and we're doing our damnedest to make sure you are made aware of this title. Spread the word, support a great team.
