Happy 12th Birthday Dreamcast

We just wanted to say Happy Birthday to the Dreamcast, a system that had the potential..But never quite played its cards right. Despite being ahead of its time in many ways, and having a head start on the Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube..Sega oversaw the fact that they had hurt customer confidence and their fanbase with the terrible Sega Saturn, 32x and SegaCD. Three strikes.

However, the people who gave it a chance were greeted with features that would define the standard for console features: Internet connectivity, online enabled games, cross platform content via the VMU(Now being explored by current gen systems), and accessory driven games (Seaman comes to mind). Like the other people who believed, I became part of the cult following that followed the Dreamcast years after its demise. In terms of 2d fighting games, you were unrivaled in my book. Happy 12th Birthday Dreamcast.
