Followup: The 2011 Nike Mag-It's About Time

So as a followup to our previous post about speculation regarding a possible release of the Nike Mag..It's true, the amazing shoes will be released, but with a heartbreaking catch:

Only 1,500 shoes will be made available. And not with a fixed price, but each shoe will be auctioned off individually over Ebay for the course of ten days to raise proceeds for the Michael J. Fox Parkinsons foundation. So yeah, your chances of scoring a pair just went down by 98,000%, unless you're in an income bracket where dropping tens of thousands of dollars on a pair of shoes seems feasible.

Rumors indicate that the shoes won't strap like they did in the movie, and the patent we uncovered. Nonetheless, despite the initial stings of disappointment, we're glad the proceeds are going towards a good cause. At the end of the day, Nike went with exclusivity over volume for this iconic sneaker. Oh well.
