The 1982 Bladrunner Convention Reel

This awesome behind the scenes was created to promote the movie before it came out back in the early eighties. Its a fascinating look at a different time, in which practical effects were king and lazy applications of CG just didn't exist...Everything was tangible. The sets are absolutely awe inspiring, and oozing with atmosphere because the aesthetics for Bladerunner's concept of LA in the year 2000 were so damn well thought out...Definitely Syd Mead at his best.

The movie went on to inspire so many videogames and movies that its kind of ridiculous, and its awesome to see Ridley Scott, Syd Mead and Douglas Trumbull talking about this movie before it went on to become one of those quintessential Scifi films which have yet to be topped. I hope we can track down more of these convention reels.
