I admit it. I like Castle because it's a well written show staring Nathan Fillion. With plenty of references and nods that would make any nerd laugh, it's worth watching. But a huge announcement was made today that could change the face of Castle's world.

Not being intent with taking over the big screen, ABC President Paul Lee revealed that a character from the Marvel universe would be coming to Castle. Read more about it after the jump.

In a interview with IGN, Paul Lee said

"You know, I don't know if I'm allowed to say it, but we've got a really cool storyline with a Marvel character that appears on Castle this year. If you guys haven't seen the finale for Castle from this past season, it's extraordinary. [Castle creator] Andrew Marlow is really hitting his stride. And that was an underrated show that really found its momentum. And there's one episode, and I'm probably giving away a secret and I shouldn't because Andrew is going to kill me, with a Marvel superhero character."

Personally I'm betting that it's a long con. A crazy psychopath who dresses up in a superhero costume. Or maybe we'll have an actual superhero that is based within reality, like the Punisher. Or maybe the show will have Castle drinking martinis with Tony Stark. Either way this announcement is something I'm excited to see in action, and I'll be jumping the shark with the creators all the way.
