Five Knives - "The Future"

Five Knives brings us a stylish new music video directed by Lance Drake, who offers us a vision of a dystopian future ruled by conformity and mind numbing repetition. When an imperfection appears in the chain, a boy chooses to resist against the chrome-faced enforcers who inhabit this world.

Slick visuals accompany the chippy electro-rock music from this relatively new group, who hail from the rather rare electro scene based out of Nashville, Tennessee. The track is taken from their 'Rising' EP, which is set to debut sometime in early 2014 in collaboration with Red Bull records. Follow these up and comers over on their Facebook page for future tracks.

Diplo & DJ Fresh Team Up To Promote Kickass 2 With "Earthquake"

DJ Fresh is back with his new single Earthquake, a distorted, glitchy, bombastic collaboration with Mad Decent label boss/Major Lazer frontman Diplo also featuring the vocal talents of Dominique Young Unique. The video treatment is noteworthy for it's thematic ties to this summers upcoming sequel to Mark Millar's Kickass, featuring Young walking down a crumbling city with a posse of grungy wannabe super heroes and a pseudo-Hulk-ish mutant to boot.

While the somewhat experimental track doesn't quite hold up when compared to some of Diplo's other endeavors, the kickass visuals directed by Jonas & Francois provide a much needed accompaniment to round the experience out. The Earthquake single is set to be released on August 8, 2013 via Ministry Of Sound Recordings.

Nero: Must Be The Feeling

I think my week just got made, again...February, you're absolutely kicking ass musically! Nero's fresh music video for 2011's awesome 'Must Be The Feeling' delivers an orgasmically retrofuturistic rush of visual stimuli, drawing bits and pieces from Bladerunner and Drive to create my favorite music video of this year so far.

The addition of the retro supercar is an awesome touch as well, that being the beautifully rare DeTomaso Pantera GT5 ripping up the streets of this dystopian city. Its a shame that these guys are still mainly based out of the UK, but you can still pick up their excellent album that put them on the map, 'Welcome Reality!'

The Raid: An Indonesian Action Tour De Force

We recently had this trailer submitted to us by Merantau Films, and I have to say...I think this movie would kick ass if it hit the big screen. The movie premiered on a limited release basis at various festivals, but has a tentative release date of January 19, 2012. The premise is pretty simple, an elite police force has to work their way up a 30 story building to defeat a dangerous crime lord in Jakarta, but they get way more than they could have ever expected. The trailer is a nonstop barrage of kickass action and solid choreography, and the movie generated some pretty amazing reviews at the Toronto film festival, garnering a 9.0 IMDB score from 190 viewers. It also turns out that Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda will be scoring the film, and judging from the trailer, he's doing a damn fine job. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Sony will do a limited release stateside when it comes out.

EDIT: We previously indicated in the title that this was a Malaysian movie, by error.  Sorry for the mistake, and thanks for the correction!

The Rocketeer: For Kids

In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Rocketeer, a the guys at the French animation studio known as  Digital Banana created this amazing fan tribute to the series in the form of a TV show pitch. And man, they presented a rock solid argument as to why this would make a fantastic kids show with their stylized take on the series. Lets just hope Disney takes note, and makes a kickass series based off this proof of concept with some cool toys to boot.
