Hoodie Allen - "Cake Boy"

Hoodie Allen returns following the smashing success of his All American album, one that could be equated to the power of social media to bring underground rappers to the light. Since posting his somewhat hilarious 'James Franco' music video sometime in 2011, we've been hooked on the rappers special formula of light hearted lyrics and a definite appreciation towards his fans. As a thank you for the overwhelming support he received on his album, he's been working round the clock to deliver a free album to fans, dubbed Crew Cuts (February 20 release).

Cake Boy is the first single off the album, an audacious track about having your cake and eating it too produced by renown producer !llmind (Kanye West, 50 Cent). Prepare for a large dose of kaleidoscopic cake montages and cutoff jeans.

Hoodie Allen Switches It Up With 'No Faith In Brooklyn'

We admit it, most of us here are pretty big fans of Hoodie Allen. The guy has some awesome flow and manages to push out amazing singles, one after the other. While this song isn't as heavy on Hoodie Allen's rhymes like previous songs, it still proves that the man has some amazing talent. The release of the newest music video 'No Faith In Brooklyn' also marks the release of the EP 'All American' which you can pick up on iTunes over here.

I highly suggest picking it up. I promise you, if you like the song above or any of his previous tracks, you won't stop listening to it.

Hoodie Allen : No Interruption

When Hoodie Allen landed on our music radar with his excellent 'James Franco' track sometime last year, I saw an up and coming artist with a ton of potential, doing it all by himself without the help of a label. He refused to be molded into something he wasn't, which is something I think anyone can admire. Fast forward a few months later, and I found this piece de resistance sitting in my inbox.

This is it, the track that will probably make him explode. The Long Island based artist has managed to refine his sound, create an insanely catchy track that works both in the realm of mass market and the same niche audience he's built for himself (Myself included), and most important: He's managed to stay himself. With a wicked hook and a fantastic music video, it looks like all the hard work is finally going to pay off big time. This track is from an upcoming EP coming out April 10th called 'All American.'
