Dead End
Created by a group of artists at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands, Dead End is a stylish short revolving around three people in a desert and a mysterious box that draws them into a life or death conflict. The art style is an accomplishment in itself, resembling something that Suda51 (Killer7, Killer is Dead) would come up with, especially considering it's pulpy, low fi look mixed with a narrative straight out of a Robert Rodriguez movie. The contents of the box are ultimately left to our imaginations, which I think was a great approach for making Dead End even more memorable.
On a desert road a mysterious little box is the cause of a conflict between three characters. All characters are fascinated by the contents of the box and want to obtain it, no matter what. Confidence in each other and trust and distrust come close together in this animation.
