The Art Of Sleepy

(Via)
Sleepy is a Japanese illustrator with a style heavily delved into European folk art aesthetics, especially the northern regions. Characterized by a lack of sunlight in the winter seasons, this seasonal influence was typically carried over to childrens books via it's emphasis on soft, desaturated colors and stories based on natural folklore.

Mixed with a pseudo-anime style, Sleepy's work is really appealing to look at, executed in a watercolor style that really makes these pieces seem like they're taken straight out of the pages of a fairy tale. If you're in the mood for some more soothing imagery, check out more of Sleepy's work after the break.
