Imagining Total Recall

With today's debut of the Total Recall remake featuring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and others I thought I'd share this old behind the scenes featurette for the 1990 blockbuster. The remake has garnered mixed attention (And reviews), especially from people asking why such a remake was necessary considering that the first movie was pretty damn good.

The argument definitely has to do with Hollywood's current inability to take risks with new properties, opting to play it safe by simply remaking movies and cashing on people's nostalgia. With studios paralyzed with fear about the prospect of losing money during this economically challenged times though, it seems like a crash is inevitable, although necessary to possibly revitalize the industry. Let's see how things play out.
