Yes, This Utopia Was A Real Concept

(Via)
Yes, this thing was a real concept.
Chinese architect firm unveiled their radical design at 2008’s Venice Biennale of Architecture, an exhibition held every even year in the city. Nicknamed ‘Superstar’, the movable city is the phenomenal concept based on the more traditional Chinatowns of the likes of London and San Francisco.

Read more about this Utopia after the jump.

It was expected to hold 15,000 people, the completely sustainable space age creation was to generate its own energy and recycle waste without having to litter host cities. It was also too include health resorts, gyms, freshwater lakes and a digital cemetery to remember the dead (although they never revealed what they’ll do with the actual bodies).
MAD intended that the town would be transported to cities around the world. It would be fully sustainable, producing its own energy and recycling its own waste without needing to use its host cities' resources.

What an amazing concept, but I haven't been able to find out anything since it's original 2008 reveal. It's a shame, because the concept sounded like the perfect Utopia.....Maybe too good. Also very familiar. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.......
OH SHIIIII.......NOT YET, I'M STILL YOUNG! DON'T TAKE ME!
