Directed by Malaysian artist/programmer/designer McLelun Leeb Hujan is a pleasant rain themed background plate animation created over a few weeks. A background plate animation is in reference to animated elements that make up the backdrop of an animated short, at which point characters are typically added later. The Art Of Mamico - Fleeting Moments

Mamico's art evokes pleasant, fuzzy memories of those moments in which things simply felt just right, fleeting moments that remain engrained in your memories for years. Hailing from the Saitama prefecture in Tokyo, her work is incredibly peaceful, typically featuring relaxed looking protagonists in an introspective state, enjoying the warmth of a space heater, the company of a fuzzy friend or a beautiful day out.

Considering that it's a Sunday as I'm writing this and the weather is gray and overcast, Mamico's work just happens to feel right as well. Enjoy more awesome illustration pieces from her portfolio after the break!
