Frat House: A Buried Documentary (NSFW)

I'm a big fan of documentaries, and hearing about this lost gem created by Todd Phillips before he went on to create Road Trip, Old School, The Hangover, and Project X fame was pretty fascinating. The 1998 doc, which was recently released on Youtube delves into how fraternities work, including the acts of rushing, pledging and hazing at some of the more outlandish or unrecognized fraternities.

The film was commissioned by HBO, but ultimately banned due to claims that some of the more extreme hazing rituals were staged for film. You can definitely see where Todd ended up getting his initial inspiration to create his distinct line of films, which all carry a certain reoccurring theme. The documentary did receive a grand prize at Sundance under the documentary category, but quickly faded into obscurity after that. And as a double reminder, its pretty NSFW.
