I recently stumbled onto KidChan's work after seeing one of his designs pop up for voting on
Threadless..People didn't seem to understand his work, with mixed reviews driving the score into an average mid range. I applauded his boldness, and trying to do something new with the format, but ultimately it seems that the shirt didn't quite make it. A week or two later I tracked his work back to a Deviantart account, where I found myself stunned at his incredible gallery.
Kidchan's work reminds me of a mix between Klimt and James Jean: Beautiful watercolor (Digital and traditional, from what I can tell) work with subdued palettes that give his work a very dreamy feel. Check out a few more pieces of his work after the break.
