PSN Down For PS Store Restoration; Internet Overreacts

SONY IS EVIL MY UNCLE TOLD ME SO
The PSN is down, but it's a good thing (for once). The PlayStation Network will be down for "several hours" today as Sony works to get the service up to speed and ready for the relaunch of the PlayStation Store, which the company says will happen this week.

"The server maintenance performed at this time represents a crucial step in the full restoration for PSN, including the PlayStation Store," posted VP of Sony Network Entertainment Eric Lempell on the Playstation Blog. "During this maintenance period, users will be unable to sign in to PSN, though those that are already logged in should be able to remain online."

It means you can still play your games and you have free games and full service back up soon. That's good right? Nope. The internet has over-reacted, claiming that the network has been hacked again, with witty "XBOX IS BETTERZ" comments and other fanboy type flames. I can understand why people are apprehensive, but this time it went down with warning. You can't play online for a few hours? Oh well, I'm playing Portal 2 local with my father, drinking, writing a script and then going out and having a social life. When I get back it will be up, and the internet will look silly. Life is good.
